Piedmont Varsity Wildcats struggled to get their offense going on Saturday, getting easily dispatched by Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs, 11-5.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats opened up scoring in the first inning when Noah Smith’s sac fly scored one run for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.

In the top of the second inning, Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs tied things up at three when J Winchester’s sac fly scored one run for Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs.

Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning.  In the third Loyd singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Grant Brunner drew a walk, scoring one run.

Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs scored six runs in the fourth inning.  The offensive firepower by Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs was led by Loyd, Tracy, and Winchester, all driving in runs in the inning.

Baker was on the mound for Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs. The righthander allowed four hits and three runs over three innings, striking out six.

Smith led things off on the mound for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats. Smith lasted two innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three.  Jakeb Koop, Weston Thomas, Luke Hill, and Clayton Harrington each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, one and one-third innings, one inning, and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Piedmont Varsity Wildcats had seven hits in the game.  Logan Hill and Thomas all managed multiple hits for Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.  Thomas and Hill each managed two hits to lead Piedmont Varsity Wildcats.

Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs racked up 13 hits on the day.  Josh Errico, Kardokus, Rhett Winchester, and Loyd all managed multiple hits for Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs.  Errico went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs in hits.  Edmond Memorial Varsity Bulldogs was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Jacob Williams had the most chances in the field with 13.
